Successful management of crisis situations requires a police officer to have high resistance to stress, the ability to quickly assess threats and make informed decisions. Emotional stability and psychological preparedness become important factors for maintaining professionalism in such conditions. The psychological readiness of police officers to act in crisis situations is a complex state that includes cognitive, emotional and motivational components. It is determined by the ability of a police officer to remain calm, make decisions quickly and accurately and act in accordance with the assigned tasks, despite stressful influences. The main components of psychological readiness include: emotional stability, motivation to perform professional duties, confidence in one’s own strengths and abilities, as well as the ability to adapt to changing circumstances. The formation of psychological readiness requires systematic work with police officers, which includes training, modeling extreme situations and developing self-regulation mechanisms. Decision-making models in crisis situations are important for the effective work of police officers in conditions of high uncertainty. In conditions of stress and limited time, it is important not only to have a clear idea of the possible options for action, but also the ability to make decisions quickly, without losing control of the situation. The psychological aspect of these models consists in intuitive analysis of the situation, the use of previous experience and readiness to adapt. The main principle is the ability of a police officer to react quickly, using both rational and intuitive strategies.
