Проаналізовано основні теоретичні підходи до пояснення агресії, зокрема психоаналітичний, біхевіористичний та когнітивний підходи. Окреслено ключові фактори, що впливають на рівень агресивності працівників правоохоронних органів, серед яких професійний стрес, специфіка виконання службових обов’язків, гендерні особливості та рівень емоційного контролю. Визначено вплив агресії на ефективність правоохоронної діяльності та імідж поліції в суспільстві. Наголошено на важливості психологічної підготовки правоохоронців для запобігання негативним наслідкам агресивної поведінки, зокрема перевищенню службових повноважень. The article examines the peculiarities of the manifestation of aggression among law enforcement officials, taking into account social, psychological and professional factors. The basic theoretical approaches to explanation of aggression, including psychoanalytic (Freud), ethological (K. Lorenz), cognitive (A. Bandura) and frustration-aggressive (D. Dollard, N. Miller) are considered. The factors that provoke the aggressive behavior of law enforcement officers, including socio-economic and political instability, professional stress, emotional exhaustion, features of official activity and contact with conflict situations, are analyzed. Significant attention is paid to gender aspects of aggression in law enforcement. Men have been found to be more likely to demonstrate physical and verbal aggression, while women are prone to indirect forms of aggressive behavior. The impact of aggressiveness on the professional activity of police officers, in particular its connection with the excess of official powers, low efficiency in stressful conditions, increasing the level of intra -collective conflicts and deterioration of the image of police in society, is analyzed. Particular attention is paid to the methods of prevention and control of aggressive behavior of law enforcement. The role of psychological training of cadets, trainings on stress management, training of emotional self -regulation and introduction of mechanisms of aggression control at the level of professional activity is noted. The importance of adherence to professional ethics, the development of communicative skills and maintaining a healthy psychological climate in the team is emphasized.Thus, the results of the study confirm the need for a systematic approach to the study and correction of aggressive behavior of law enforcement, which includes both individual and organizational measures.
