Synitsina, Yulia
The article examines the methodological aspects of comparative analysis of
artificial intelligence (AI) models within legal sciences in the context of the ongoing digital transformation
of law enforcement and judicial activities. The relevance of the study is driven by the growing integration
of AI systems into legal analytics, decision-support systems, automated document processing, and
predictive legal technologies, which directly affect the legality, fairness, transparency, and justification of
legal decisions. The purpose of the research is to systematize and substantiate methodological approaches
to the comparative evaluation of AI models, taking into account not only technical performance indicators
but also legal admissibility, interpretability, ethical acceptability, and compliance with the principles of the
rule of law and human rights protection. The research is based on an integrated methodological framework
that combines theoretical content analysis, comparative legal analysis, SWOT analysis, experimental
benchmarking, multicriteria decision-making methods (AHP, TOPSIS), performance and scalability
assessment, interpretability and transparency evaluation (Explainable AI), risk and security analysis, and
case study methodology.
The author proves that the application of isolated evaluation methods does not ensure an objective
and comprehensive comparison of AI models in the legal domain. Instead, the paper substantiates the
effectiveness of an integrated approach that allows balancing quantitative metrics (accuracy, speed,
scalability) with qualitative legal criteria (explainability, legal accountability, ethical risks, data protection).
The author’s contribution lies in adapting classical AI model evaluation methods to the specific
requirements of legal sciences, defining their advantages and limitations from a legal perspective, and
systematizing them in a comparative framework relevant to law enforcement practice. The study identifies
critical risks associated with algorithmic bias, data confidentiality breaches, and lack of model transparency,
emphasizing the need for methodological safeguards. The findings confirm that the development of unified
methodological standards for the comparative analysis of AI models is a key prerequisite for the lawful,
secure, and trustworthy application of artificial intelligence in legal sciences and practical law enforcement
activities.
