The article presents the conditions of the current comprehensive change
and reform of the system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine and the creation of the National
Police of Ukraine, the question of the ability of police officers to use means that ensure their personal
safety in typical conditions is relevant. and emergencies is quite relevant and controversial. This question
is of interest to both scientists and practitioners of internal organs. In connection with the situation in the
state, which is caused by an increase in the level of crime and an increase in the number of cases of
malicious disobedience by criminals to the requirements of law enforcement agencies.
In the midst of global changes and a series of police reforms, the issue of training police officers in a completely new format, who will perform their duties professionally and at a high level, is becoming
more relevant. However, one of the most important issues should be considered the process of training
police officers according to the latest standards and rules, which tend to differ from the previous ones.
However, the successful performance of duties by employees of internal affairs bodies largely depends on
skillful mastery of individual protection methods in typical and extreme situations.
The presence of a stable «survival attitude» makes it possible to have adequate professional
self-esteem, an emotional-volitional mood and a predictable behavior algorithm, as well as a reasonable
and motivated desire to take risks, caution, vigilance, efficiency and reliability of action in dangerous
situations. For the formation of safe behavior attitudes, it is possible to recommend the use of individual
provisions by the manager or mentors with multiple rhythmic repetitions out loud or mentally. In order to
master safety techniques during service, it is necessary to constantly work on creating a «personal» set of
safety tools and techniques.
Recognizing and avoiding dangerous situations that can lead to accidents largely depends on the
ability of police officers to quickly assess the situation with a high degree of probability and diagnose the
dangerous situation of a person who causes suspicion in third parties or his involvement in a committed
offense. In general, people in a state of alcohol intoxication, under the influence of drugs, as well as
persons with mental disorders pose a danger to others, including to employees of the National Police.
In the conclusions, we noted that the problem of the tactics of the behavior of the National
Police officers in order to avoid dangerous situations is and remains extremely relevant. In this work, we
determined the main techniques and methods of behavior of law enforcement officers in order to avoid
dangerous situations in the performance of official duties.
