Суть розробки, основні результати:
The article
highlights the issue of morality as an object of criminal law protection, taking into account modern
realities. The author has found that the protection of morals and morality, the affirmation of humanistic
values, a healthy lifestyle, patriotic, legal and aesthetic education is one of the priority areas of activity of
state institutions.
Different scientific and criminological approaches to the definition of the concept of «morality»
have been revealed, as well as its relationship with the concept of «morality» has been analyzed.
The article also emphasizes that the difference between the concepts of «morality» and
«morality» is also indicated indirectly by the Criminal Code of Ukraine, since in the structure of the entire
document only one separate section (XII, articles 297–304) refers specifically to morality, implying that
all other chapters and articles deal with morality in general.
As a result, it has been determined that criminal offenses against morality are a small but very
important part of the criminal realities of the modern world. Despite the fact that their total number is
relatively small, the damage to public interests, moral and ethical values, and the cultural component in
general is very serious. Considering this, criminologists should focus more on preventive activities of the
corresponding type of criminal offenses. The practical significance of morality as an object of criminal
law protection lies in the ability to influence the level of moral and spiritual development of society, as
well as to contribute to the necessary changes in the regulatory and legal regulation of specific spheres of
social life.
